Derek Andersen is an Illinois Wesleyan alum working as a copywriter in Chicago. His short stories have appeared in Arts & Letters, Barrelhouse, Catapult, Columbia Journal, Hobart, New Delta Review, and elsewhere.

His piece “Napalm” was named a notable Best American Short Story of 2022. His work was also featured in the 2022 Wigleaf Top 50 list.

He is currently at work on a novel and a short story collection.
